We are in need of the following items for the ongoing support of our guests and for our Christmas Giveaway - New or gently used Men’s Winter Gloves and hand warmers New Men’s White Tube Socks New or gently used Men’s and Women’s Coats. New or gently used Backpacks. New Throws or small Blankets. New Men’s Underwear all sizes. Toiletries - deodorant, travel size bar soap, shampoo and shaving cream, disposable razors, and washcloths.

We mourn the loss of Joe Fallahay, a long-standing volunteer and supporter of the Franciscan Kitchen. Joe was one of the original helpers recruited by Brother Jim Fields to launch Franciscan Shelter House in a vacant tavern on Preston St. in 1980. There is a profile of Joe on p. 4 of our June 2021 newsletter (click the Newsletter drop-down under the News and Events tab). We will have Mass and distribution of ashes on Ash Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome. Park in the lot behind our building in the alley between College and Jacob Streets.

Since Gov. Beshear has advised Kentuckians to follow the CDC recommendations regarding mask-wearing indoors and many area businesses are requiring the practice, we will also require that all volunteers and guests wear a mask indoors. We will have masks available if you don't have your own. We appreciate your cooperation in this important matter. Thank you again for your support of our mission.
